Springwater Q&A

We’re conveniently situated in the heart of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England, about 20 minutes’ drive from both Mansfield to the North and Nottingham to the South, just off the A6097 at Calverton and about 15 miles east of the M1. For a location map, please see our contact page.

Although Springwater Golf Club has a very healthy membership, we also welcome pay and play golfers, and offer a highly competitive pricing structure. Particularly popular is our “£10 for 10 holes” offer, available all week except Saturday mornings before 11am which is reserved for our members. For details of all of our pricing, please visit our green fees page.

Extremely well. The course is best described as being in undulating parkland, so not so flat that it’s boring and not so hilly that it becomes a physical challenge, but with many bunkers, trees and water hazards to keep you on your game. It measures 6262 yards long, par 71, and is designed to challenge the low handicap golfer while still being extremely playable for the higher handicap player. The course is maintained in magnificent condition by our team of greenkeepers led by Head Greenkeeper Jeff Dickinson, and some of the signature holes, in particular the par 3, 18th, (click here for video) compare favourably with the best in the county.

Most certainly. We welcome all Golf Societies, and we can put together packages including food, drinks etc. to cater for your needs. Unlike many other Golf Clubs, we welcome societies at weekends, limiting only Saturday mornings up to 11am exclusively for our members. You can also enjoy 7.5% discount on buggies and pro shop purchases on the day. Please visit our Societies Page for full details.

Yes, for golfers over 55 years of age, we offer a special weekday rate of £16.00 for 18 holes.

No, we don’t believe it’s appropriate to make a charge for joining our club, nor do we add any additional charges. The price you see is the price you pay, including VAT. For more details and a full list of our membership options, please visit our Membership Page.

Yes, there’s a small fee which goes to the company which factors the direct debit, but we’re delighted to offer this service to help our members spread the cost.

Most certainly, by being a member of Springwater Golf Club, you are eligible to obtain an official EGU / LGU Handicap, entitling you to participate in our weekly competitions and play in inter-club matches with other clubs in this area and also to play other courses.

Yes, but these should be booked in advance, and are subject to availability.

Yes, we have a fleet of well-maintained buggies, however booking in advance is advised, especially in hot weather and at particularly busy times. Additionally, you can rent pull trolleys and electric trolleys.

While not being overly aggressive with the dress code, we do believe that minimum standards should apply. We ask that all golfers wear proper golf shoes, and collared shirts and men should wear tailored trousers. In the clubhouse, there are some restrictions on where golf shoes can be worn.

Absolutely. We understand well the needs of our guests who suffer from disabilities, and the Clubhouse and toilets etc are 100% accessible to guests with limited mobility or in wheelchairs.

There are many way to independently verify what we say about our club and the course, of which we’re very proud. You can check the Testimonials page on our website or our Facebook page. There are a number of other places like Google reviews, where we have a 4.9 score which is 95% rating, or you can view us on Golfshake, which has nearly 200 reviews, and gives us a rating of 4.37, which is an 87.4% approval rating.
